15 years of#nbsp;working experience in#nbsp;Slovenia entitles you to#nbsp;a#nbsp;pension. The retirement age in#nbsp;Slovenia starts at#nbsp;65, but you can retire at#nbsp;60 if#nbsp;you have 40 years of#nbsp;pensionable service.
It#nbsp;is#nbsp;also possible to#nbsp;reduce the retirement age:
  • For the first year of#nbsp;childcare.
  • For compulsory military service#nbsp;— by#nbsp;two thirds of#nbsp;the actual military service duration.
  • For joining compulsory pension insurance before the age of#nbsp;18.
The rate of#nbsp;pension in#nbsp;Slovenia depends on#nbsp;many factors including e#nbsp;length of#nbsp;employment, salary amount, and other parameters. The total payout amount consists of#nbsp;two components: basic and supplementary pensions.
The basic pension is#nbsp;the amount of#nbsp;subsistence level#nbsp;— €#nbsp;669,83 per month. This is#nbsp;the minimum amount that all pensionaries get.
The supplementary pension is#nbsp;calculated individually for every pensionary. Its amount depends on#nbsp;the length of#nbsp;insurance service, contributions paid during employment, and can reach several thousand euros.
