A#nbsp;permanent residence permit gives the right to#nbsp;live in#nbsp;Slovenia as#nbsp;a#nbsp;citizen of#nbsp;the country. This option is#nbsp;suitable for those who are not ready to#nbsp;renounce their principal citizenship.
Nevertheless, Slovenian citizenship gives the following opportunities:

  • The ability to#nbsp;buy and sell real estate as#nbsp;a#nbsp;natural person.

  • Ability to#nbsp;hold public office.

Conditions for citizenship:

  • Residence in#nbsp;Slovenia for 10 years on#nbsp;the basis of#nbsp;business immigration and employment or#nbsp;7 years on#nbsp;the basis of#nbsp;university studies.
  • Timely extension of#nbsp;residence permit and obtaining permanent residence permit.
  • Certificate of#nbsp;passing the Slovenian language exam at#nbsp;level B1.
  • Good knowledge of#nbsp;the legal system and culture of#nbsp;the country.
  • Certificates of#nbsp;no#nbsp;criminal record.
  • Financial guarantees#nbsp;— monthly income must be#nbsp;at#nbsp;least 669.83#nbsp;€ per month.
  • Preliminary renunciation of#nbsp;primary citizenship.
